Global Food Security and Nutrition Crisis and Ukraine Impacts - WILLIAM H. MEYERS

The lecture will introduce differing types of food insecurity in different types of low and high income countries. The impacts of 4 Cs-Conflict, Climate, Covid and Cost will be discussed. Measurements of food security and malnutrition by FAO and other international agencies will be presented along with current conditions according to these measures. The food security impacts of Russia’s war on Ukraine will be highlighted in terms of global production, trade and food security effects. Global policy issues and prospects for the near term will conclude this lecture. Further reading on referenced websites will be suggested
