Lecture

Is medieval economic history only about the past? - EMILIA JAMROZIAK

This lecture will introduce audience (aimed at both these completely new to it and also these who already study history or another related area) to explain how an interdisciplinary field in the humanities works (and to understand its limitations!). It will explain how Medieval Studies examine pre-modern history and what are its key strengths and advantage over single discipline strategy. It will show its “international” and “global” dimensions in shaping research question and approaches and yet it is very much vested in different national traditions and paradigms. The lecture should be useful for these interested in methodology and wider perspective on the role of academic study of the past
