Principles of Agricultural Price, Policy and Trade Analysis - WILLIAM H. MEYERS

The lecture will introduce the main reasons for government intervention in food and agricultural markets and the policy instruments used. Examples of common interventions will be presented with methods on how the price impacts, the trade impacts, the costs and benefits and the welfare impacts of these policies on producers and consumers can be analyzed. Graphical tools and basic econometric tools will be introduced as examples. Further reading on referenced websites will be suggested
