The Ecology of Plague: A Disease Of Today That Changed Our History - NILS CHR. STENSETH

This lecture describes the biology of the plague bacterium (the one which caused the Black Death in Europe in the middle of the 14th century) both in wildlife and in human populations. It furthermore describes how the bacterium might have come to Europe from outside several times during the last 2000 years (or so). Finally it presents evidence suggesting that there never have been a plague reservoir in Europe (reservoirs that exists in Central Asia and China).
